What frustrated me about this entire selection was the overwhelming number of what I considered to be less than higher quality products. The ArtNaturals products I used smelled great and worked perfectly. Generally I was impressed by the ingredients and the organic ingredients were also impressive. All in all, a good nutritional product.

The packaging is pretty appealing, being a brown and yellow pack with the ArtNaturals logo in the sand colored color and looking as if it were handmade.

The Coppertone Sport Sunscreen Lip Balm Broad Spectrum SPF 50 (0.13 Ounce) is the best lip balm on the market because of its high SPF rating and sheer versatility.

The SPF rating is a big part of what makes this the best lip balm. It is a very high SPF rating for a lip balm. It also uses ingredients like peppermint and shea butter to make it smell great and work well.

This is also the best lip balm of 2020 because of its versatility. This is large enough for just your lips, but you can also use it anywhere that you need to protect from the sun. Kids and adults of any age can all use this to make sure they are protected.

For those who love a good deal, this product is relatively affordable and is still of great quality.

Many people are surprised at how well this Ointment performs as it makes their lips feel better instantly.

These lip balms are also moisture-rich, so they help keep your lips feeling smooth and soft. Although they do contain lip moisturizers, a few users complained that they may be a little too soft for their liking.

Rosebud Trio Lip Balm Assortment

Check Price on Amazon

Pros:

  • Made in the U.S.A.
  • Delicious assortment
  • Moisturizing

As soon as I saw their delicious variety pack I knew I had to have it. If you're like I am and have trouble finishing a whole stick of chapstick, this is the way to go. Plus it's handy to have them all in different colors.

What I love most is the scents. They taste great too, which is a plus. They're not overwhelming and don't leave a weird smell on your lips. None of them are too sweet or too strong.

The consistency is perfect, not too thick or thin and not oily or waxy. They certainly feel nice and smooth on your lips.

19. Dr. Dans CortiBalm Lip Balm

Dr. Dans CortiBalm Lip Balm

Check Price on Amazon

Pros:

  • Soothes dry chapped lips
  • Feels very nourishing and moisturizing
  • No waxy residue or stickiness
  • Good value for the price

The Dr. Dans CortiBalm Lip Balm for Chapped Lips is triple-glycerin based and petroleum free. Did I mention it’s cruelty free too?

It’s one of those products we take for granted, provided for us by nature and which we hardly give a second thought. We’re talking, of course, about the lips. We need them to kiss our partners, eat our favorite foods and sometimes, even to whistle.

And if they’re not taken care of, a bad case of chapped lips can appear within a matter of a few days. Something that’s not nice at all.

20. Burt's Bees 100% Natural All-Weather SPF15 Moisturizing Lip Balm

Our rating: 8 / 10

Burt's Bees 100% Natural All-Weather SPF15 Moisturizing Lip Balm

Check Price on Amazon

Pros:

  • Made with natural ingredients
  • Shape and size is easy to use
  • Lightweight
  • Seals moisture in lips instead of melting off

Cons:

  • The Burt’s Bees all-weather lip balm is my top pick as it’s pretty easy to use and offers a good lip care solution for everyone’s budget.

(Pack of 3)

If you’re an outdoor person and find yourself constantly in the sun all year round, you definitely need to have a solid lip care routine in place. This can range from applying sunblock or a special lip balm just for outdoor activities that’ll do a good job of keeping your lips moisturized as well as protected from the harsh UV rays of the sun.

Since this lip balm is designed to fight the dry chapped lips you get from staying out in the sun for a long time, it’s ideal for hiking, going on mountain bike rides, or any other outdoor activity. The most important thing I look for in a lip balm is that it seals moisture so that my lips won’t feel super dry even if I have to spend an eternity out in the sun.

21. DHC Lip Cream

  • Lightweight
  • Convenient
  • Comfortable on the lips
  • Comes in four different flavors
  • Affordable
  • Cruelty-free
  • Colorless
  • Adjustable coverage

The DHC Lip Cream in a two-pack is our top pick as an all-around lip balm that gives your lips everything they need and more.

It’s made with a blend of moisturizing oils including shea butter, argan oil, and jojoba oil. It’s also made with anti-oxidants like Vitamin E, polyphenol, and lycopene.

The vegan-friendly and cruelty-free ingredients come with a light peppermint flavor that’s not overpowering at all. And it’s also colorless so you can choose to wear it on its own or under a lipstick.

22. ChapStick Total Hydration Hello Bordeaux 0.12 oz

Our rating: 7 / 10

ChapStick Total Hydration Hello Bordeaux 0.12 oz

Check Price on Amazon

Pros:

  • Great price
  • Non-greasy
  • Offers smooth application

Cons:

  • Scent not for everyone
  • Glycerin can attract dust

The best product in terms of packaging is the ChapStick Total Hydration that features a slim new size. It's placed in a pack of three.

All in all, this new ChapStick product does for your lips what it does for your skin – it hydrates. It's made from a blend of ingredients, one of which is glycerin. Glycerin attracts dust so take care not to wipe your lips and get your finger covered with dirt.

Apart from the scent not being for everyone, this product also has a main downside and that is that it contains glycerin that can lead to yeast infections.

23. Lip Smacker Coffee and Tea Lip Balm Party Pack

Our rating: 6 / 10

Lip Smacker Coffee and Tea Lip Balm Party Pack

Check Price on Amazon

Pros:

  • Delicious scents
  • Not too greasy
  • Long lasting

Cons:

  • No real SPF protection
  • Some flavors can feel a little gritty
  • Packaging can tend to melt or become sticky

This amazing pack gives you a tasty (and somewhat caffeinated) lip treat. I found this to be a very comfortable lip balm to use.

Every flavor is infused with a tasty scent. It wasn’t a problem to apply this, nor did it leave my lips feeling greasy or oily. It does have a tendency to leave some behind on the lips, which is easier to wipe off than other lip balms.

It would have been nice if one or two flavors had some sort of SPF protection, but if you only apply it before or after you’re going to be out in the sun it won’t matter much.

24. Vaseline Lip Therapy Lip Balm Tin

Our rating: 6 / 10

Vaseline Lip Therapy Lip Balm Tin

Check Price on Amazon

Pros:

  • Rosy Lips
  • Moisturizing Lips
  • Helps plump chapped lips

Cons:

  • Minimal scent.
  • Some people complain about the tin and the packaging but the content is the same as the clinique product.

This product has 0.6 oz as mentioned on the packaging. It also remains on your lips for long time and you can carry it anywhere you want. It feels natural on the lips without any greasiness.

Great price on amazon. It’s basically the exact same as the clinique and doesn’t have all of the packaging.

Great product!

25. SPF 30 Lip Balm Lipsaver 4 Pack

Our rating: 6 / 10

SPF 30 Lip Balm Lipsaver 4 Pack

Check Price on Amazon

Pros:

  • Won’t rub off or sweat or smear
  • Leaves a smooth coat that’s easy to apply
  • Doesn’t cause allergies or dry your lips
  • SPF 30 and above
  • Comes with sunscreen in it
  • Natural formula

Cons:

  • May irritate people with extra sensitive skin
  • A little bit on the heavy side

If you have ever ridden a bike for an extended period of time when the sun was at its highest in the sky and come home looking like a character from that apocalyptic movie “The Road,” and your lips were chapped, that was probably due to not having a balm with an SPF rating to protect your lips from the sun’s rays.

Usually, your lips get dry because your body is trying to protect them. But when you have a balm (or sunscreen) any time that they need it, they won’t work as hard as they normally would.

This makes your lips feel soft and protected.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is the most effective lip balm?

No matter what, there will always be a tendency for some degree of chapping. For severe chapped lips however, you would need to use a lip balm that contains lip moisturizers that help to heal the chapped lips. However, you should avoid lip balms that contain medicated ingredients as using these medicated ingredients excessively can worsen the effect of the chapped lips.

The best lip balm that you would need to use if you want to heal the chapped lips is an all-natural lip balm. This is the easiest way for you to treat the chapped lips as many all-natural ingredients are known for their restorative and moisturizing properties. You may use a medicated lip balm if it is limited to be applied for minor chapped lips. Do not apply these medicated cream frequently especially if you use it as the primary way to treat the chapped lips.

What are the best tinted lip balms?

Many lip balms offer a hint of color, so you have options if you want one that provides more color than just basic glossy shine. When shopping for a tinted lip balm, know that the color will not be as intense as lipstick or gloss. A lip balm will fade over time so the color won’t look exactly the same at the end of the day as it does at the beginning. A tinted lip balm should come in a range of shades, so you can find one that works for your skin tone.

The best lip balms not only provide a hint of color, but they also give your lips a soft, hydrated feel. They are formulated to be as moisturizing as possible, so they don’t leave your lips feeling chapped and flaky.

What is the best lip care product?

Until now, such lip care products have been more like lip balms, and have separated the lips, rather than allowing them to meld together. But then came the much awaited Hydracentials Lipstick–a make-up brand from Italy. This lipstick has an innovation that is truly revolutionary–the ability to allow the lips to meld together. Now, women can wear lipstick, without looking as if their lips are parted, or disseparated–an endearing trait among women. One can wear any color, and it will look as if the lips are naturally colored.

So this is really the best lip care item in the market today! Having over two years of use, many women have come to realize its benefits. Others say that you can even sleep with it on, the lips remain soft and supple, to say the least. So if you want to have smooth lips that complement any lipstick you wish to use, you can go for this product.

What lip balm do dermatologists recommend?

Dermatologists recommend lip balm with SPF. If you go outside and you’re wearing lip balm with an SPF of at least 15 or greater, it will offer your lips effective sun protection too.

With so many different types of lip balms on the market today there is no shortage of choices. However, many lip balms use chemicals, menthol, and even petroleum to make them perform better. Your lips will not absorb chemical additives, so you are essentially just coating them in chemicals. In order to protect your lips you should always look for a lip balm with all-natural ingredients.

When looking for all-natural ingredients that will benefit your lips you’ll want to find ingredients such as:

  • Honey
  • Vitamin E
  • Olive Oil
  • Castor Oil
  • Shea Butter
  • Flaxseed Oil
  • Cocoa Butter
